Workshops

3rd - 5th Grade

Math Games In this math games session, participants will first play Beat the Die, where they'll use logic, reasoning, and a bit of luck to compete against the other students. Then they'll jump into a 24 Tournament, racing to combine numbers with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to make 24. It's a fast-paced mix of math, strategy, and fun challenges!
Marshmallow Engineering In this creative engineering challenge, participants will use marshmallows and spaghetti to build the tallest, strongest tower possible. They'll learn about balance, stability, and teamwork while testing their designs in a fun, hands-on way.
Rubiks Cubing In this Rubik's Cube workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of solving the cube, from basic notation to step-by-step solving strategies. We'll practice hands-on, explore fun cube challenges, and finish with a friendly speed-solving competition. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this session is all about learning, playing, and having fun.
Patterns and Sequences In this math activity, kids will explore cool number patterns and sequences, discovering how numbers connect in surprising ways. Through puzzles, games, and group challenges, they'll practice spotting patterns and predicting what comes next.
Animal Adaptations In this active biology workshop, students will take on the role of animals with different “adaptations” and compete to collect food using unique tools and limitations. Through fun survival rounds and environmental changes, they’ll experience firsthand how certain traits help animals thrive while others make survival more challenging. Students will explore natural selection, competition, and the importance of adaptations in the wild.

6th - 8th Grade

Estimathon and Games In this math games session, participants will first play Estimathon, where they'll make clever guesses to wacky real-world questions using teamwork and logic. Then they'll jump into a 24 Tournament, racing to combine numbers with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to make 24. It's a fast-paced mix of math, strategy, and fun challenges!
Chemistry Experiments In this hands-on chemistry lab, students will carry out simple but exciting experiments, like mixing baking soda and vinegar or testing chemical reactions. With more responsibility and direct participation, they'll explore how everyday ingredients can reveal the power of chemistry.
Code Busting In this cryptography activity, students will learn how to crack basic secret codes like Atbash. They'll practice problem-solving, pattern recognition, and logical thinking while uncovering hidden messages — just like real codebreakers.
Countdown Round In this fast-paced math competition, students will go head-to-head solving problems in real time, racing against the clock and each other. Each question challenges their speed, accuracy, and problem-solving skills, building excitement with every round. It's a great way to build a student's confidence in their own mathematical skills.
